This research vessel will be constructed at AAMs facility on Bellingham Bay, Wash. The vessel is a 52 x 19 semi-dis-placementaluminumcatamaranhullandis basedonthedesignelementsfoundinthe recentlycommissionedresearchvesselR/V Storm Petrel built for NOAAs Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary.This vessel is being constructed to U.S. Coast Guard standards for service in waters where the range to refuge is 150 nautical miles or less andgrid of deck sockets.
