b'2022 Region Meeting SuccessT his years PVA Region Meetings returned to in-person events with strong attendance in every sector as vessel and associate members gathered together to discuss the most important issues in each region and throughout the passenger vessel industry. Three U.S. Coast Guard admirals spoke and meetings were attended by a number of Coast Guard members, demonstrating the strength of PVAs long-standing partnership with the Coast Guard. Both vessel and associate members presented at each meeting, often leading roundtables on pressing concerns, allowing members to learn what challenges their peers have faced and to share and gather ideas and solutions to help their operations succeed. Topics ranged from hiring and retaining employees to updates on mer-chant mariner credentials, from preparing for active shooter situations to the continuing concern of illegal charters, as well as the effects of legalized marijuana on the industry. Members of the Coast Guard out-lined the services priorities in each region and every meeting discussed implementing the updated PVA Alternative Security Program. Each region was supported by local vessel operators hosting meetings and evening cruises, as well as a number of associate and vessel members who sponsored the meetings. With high attendance, excellent coverage of the most pressing issues, backing from numerous sponsors, and the chance to reconnect after too long apart, the PVA Region Meetings can be counted as a huge success. We look forward to seeing everyone at MariTrends 2023 in February and at the 2024 Region Meetings next fall.Clockwise across spread from top left opposite page: RADM Richard Timme addressing the Rivers Region Meeting; RADM John Mauger at the Original Colonies Region meeting; members Mike McElroy, Jake Market, and Billy Market pose with RADM Michael Johnston at the Great Lakes Region Meeting; a full room at the Great Lakes Region Meeting; a warm welcome as members boarded the MV Cape Henlopen in New London, Conn.; Miller Boat Line hosted the Great Lakes Region Meeting as they celebrated their 100th year; opening night reception at Put-in-Bay, Ohio; Marine Groups taco cocktail hour in San Diego; nearly every seat filled at the Western Region Meeting; Interstate PowerSystems brought their trailer to the Great Lakes Region Meeting; RADM Andrew Sugimoto spoke during lunch in San Diego; Put-in-Bay Boat Line/Jet Express facility during the scenic harbor cruise at the Great Lakes Region Meeting; Capt.
