His concern was that if the strike were to occur, railroad bridges spanning navigable waterways might remain closed and PVA members vessel op-erators would be negatively impacted. After numerous calls and meetings with the Coast Guard to determine their plans to keep bridg-es open if a strike occurred, PVA sent a letter to President Biden asking for his assistance in addressing the issue. Although the pause did help, there still appeared to be no Coast Guard plan in place to ensure that rail-road bridges would remain open.
